Newport Schools is excited to announce that we were selected for a new statewide pilot program. It will take place on April 9–10 with the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.
April 9 (Elementary): Chicken-fried rice taste test during lunch (10:50–12:10).
April 10 (High School): Cooking demonstrations and rice-based recipes with Mrs. Bradley’s classes.
As Jackson County is the state’s top rice-producing county, this visit also opens the door for future farm-to-school partnerships.
Local media will be in attendance to highlight this opportunity for our students and community.
