IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE NEWPORT COMMUNITY

Emergency Response Drills Scheduled for June 23rd

The Newport School District, in cooperation with the Newport Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas State Police, Newport Fire Department, and Emergency Services, will conduct two emergency response drills on Monday, June 23rd.

These drills are only exercises and not actual emergencies. There is no danger to students, staff, or the public.

The drills will simulate two different emergency scenarios:

  • One will take place on the Newport High School campus in the morning

  • The other will occur at the Newport Elementary campus in the afternoon

As a district, we believe it is essential to be well-prepared for situations that require coordinated efforts from multiple departments.  These drills help ensure that, in the event of a real emergency, our response is effective, efficient, and keeps everyone as safe as possible.

We sincerely thank the Newport community for continued support and understanding as we take these proactive steps to maintain a secure environment for all students and staff
