Newport School District

Newport Superintendent, Jon Bradley and ASUN Chancellor, Dr. Johnny Moore announced the Proud Hound Scholarship Fund on the campus of NHS today.  Mr. Bradley explained that Newport School District currently pays for the first 6 hours of concurrent credit classes for Newport students.  With the formation of this scholarship fund, the district hopes to be able to provide all concurrent fees for students taking classes at ASUN for college credit while still in high school.  The shirts feature the Greyhound flying the Aviator plane over Legendary Greyhound Field.  These will be on sale soon at Newport athletic events and online at www.newportschools.org.  All profits from the shirt sales will go into the scholarship fund.  The district will also accept any donations to the fund.  We are truly excited to offer our students more opportunities to gain college credit and give them an advantage upon graduation.
