CJ Chaten (Head Basketball Coach & Business Teacher),
I am a high school graduate of Dardanelle High School. I attended the University of Tulsa on a football scholarship. I also attended UCA before graduating from Arkansas Tech University. This will be my 7th year in education and 6th year coaching basketball. I’ve spent all of my previous years in the Russellville School District and can’t wait to get started here at Newport. I am married to Magen Chaten with 6 children (Tres, Kynnli, Brexton, Paisynn, Rowynn, and Lux). The whole crew is ready for this new adventure!
The main thing I love about teaching is watching the light bulb go off in students’ heads when they make those educational connections in my classroom.
My Favorite things to do:
-Spending time with my family
-Working out
-Love different types of burgers
-Playing spades
