Newport High School JROTC program is led by Colonel Ed Jones and First Sergeant Jim Johnson. Our JROTC program provides many opportunities for our students to get involved. In November, they held the Veterans Day Assembly and luncheon, in which they invited local veterans to come and be honored. JROTC also has a rifle team in which many of our students participate. They host a rifle shooting match here each year. Students are also able to participate in Color Guard through our JROTC program. This summer they plan to attend the Cadet Leadership Challenge summer camp. Four cadets will also be chosen to attend the National Flights Academy in June in Florida! Our students are blessed to have the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful program as Newport High School JROTC.
