Newport School District

Newport School District will be conducting a lockdown drill on the morning of October 24^th, 2023 at 8:20 AM.  This will involve local law enforcement, both city and county and our faculty, staff, and students are aware of this drill.  These drills can take up to an hour to complete.  This announcement is an effort to inform the community so as not to cause any undue alarm or stress.  If your child has an appointment or will be arriving late for any reason that day, please plan accordingly because no one will be allowed to enter or leave campus until the conclusion of the drill.  As always, we take the safety and security of our students very seriously and appreciate your cooperation and support in our efforts.  #proudhound
