Illegal to Pass a School Bus

With school starting back we wanted to share information with the public to make sure we are following the law when it comes to school bus safety.  In recent years there has been a rise in the number of cases involving students being hit by cars that do not stop for school buses when their flashers are going and they are loading/unloading students.  Please make sure to follow all laws concerning this safety issue for our students.  The Arkansas Statute is 27-51-1004, Passing When Stopped Prohibited (Passing Stopped School Bus). It is a Class A Misdemeanor with a $1,055 fine and can carry up to one year in the county jail.
