Newport School Closed Tuesday, January 16th

Newport Schools will be closed Tuesda, January 16th because of possible slick roads and bitter cold temperatures.

Newport Schools are closed Friday, January 12th

Newport Schools are closed today, Friday, January 12th.  Streets are clear in the city but roads east have areas of black ice.  Elementary schools area is really slick.  Stegall Road toward prison has black ice.  I believe it is too dangerous to run our buses and expect staff, students and parents to drive in these conditions.  We have prepared for teachers and students to do their school work at home so this will be an AMI(alternate means of instruction) day.  If everyone cooperates and does their school work then we will not have to make up this missed day.  Please be safe if you must travel today.
